With new security measures in place, we have instituted a GUEST login whereby, interested individulas can gain access to our site to look around without creating an account. We have also developed a short course on Account Creation and Course Enrollement which should help with "getting started".

IF YOU ARE A RETURNING STUDENT AND ARE ASKED WHEN STARTING A LESSON "Would You Like To Begin where you left off?" ANSWER "NO" AND START EACH LESSON FROM ITS BEGINNING.

It has come to our attention that when enrolling for recertifications the system sometimes sees that a lesson has been started and asks if the user would like to "Begin where you left off". If you select "Yes" you will be brought to the end of the lesson and the system will not give time credit for that lesson even though the quiz was successfully completed.

On August 10 ,2010, Aviation Continuing Education, Inc. was named sole provider of 14 CFR 139.321 (e)(1) required training. ASIG and Signature Flight Support personnel can now login at our website and take our renowned Supervisory Fuel Safety and Inspection course in the comfort of their office or blockhouse. Gone are the days of spending twice the cost of a class to travel to a live course. Employing technology to meet federal training requirements is the smart way to manage require training. Employees can start and stop at any time and begin where they left off when they restart. Additionally, employees can take the course during ramp operational slow periods thereby reducing or eliminating overtime. Another advantage to providing our training company-wide is that all staffers are trained on the same topics.

Solis announces new OSHA enforcement initiatives

Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis announced a number of major new OSHA enforcement initiatives during her April 14 keynote address at the National Action Summit for Latino Worker Health and Safety. OSHA currently requires that training provisions under OSHA standards be provided in a language or a form that workers can understand. OSHA further requires that its Compliance Officers check and verify that workers have received the training required by OSHA standards. The Agency will expand upon this and effective on April 28 -- Workers Memorial Day -- Secretary Solis explained, "OSHA will also assure that its Compliance Officers check and verify not only that the training has been provided, but that it was provided in a format that the workers being trained can understand." The Secretary also announced a new pilot program where OSHA will work with local b uilding inspectors to assure worker safety and health protection. In construction, the four leading causes of worker deaths are falls, electrocution, being crushed or caught between and being struck. Inspectors participating in this pilot program will notify OSHA when they observe unsafe work conditions leading to these four major causes of workplace fatalities.
